Students in the Ba Futuru (For the Future) program at Seroja Center received a donation of English language books from the U.S. Embassy on November 5. Public Affairs Officer Mike Taylor presented each student with a copy of O. Henry short stories, designed for students of English as a foreign language. Matt Robinson, the course instructor and a U.S.-sponsored English Language Fellow, said, “These students are all teenagers. They learn best when their readings have interesting characters and a good plot for them to follow. These short stories are just the right complexity to help move their language skills to a more advanced level.”
